Tonight, Rec Hall filled to capacity as democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders came to speak at Penn State. The first Sanders supporters entered the line to get in this morning at 8 a.m. A line formed that went over the IST Building as students awaited the Rec Hall doors to open at 4 p.m.
If you were one of those who braved the sun all day to see Sanders, you know what it was like. For those of you who don’t, Valley has some insight. Here are the 10 things you know if you were one of the many who waited to #FeeltheBern.
1. You should have brought your sunscreen.
2. And comfortable shoes.
3. And money for one of those darn buttons! The “Feel the Bern” ones were too real with the sun beating down.
4. And also money for a bottle of water from those vendors selling water from their backpacks (that wasn’t sketchy at all).
5. That guy with the Trump poster board is really loud. We get it, you have your facts and you “consent to film.”
6. The guy handing out those “Pope Secrets” flyers must have some strange conspiracy theories and also must have a lot of free time on their hands.
7. That you shook hands with candidate John Fetterman.
8. And may have accidentally committed your weekend to campaigning for Bernie.
9. The frats around Rec Hall are also doing their best to capitalize on the event. $60 parking Fiji? Really?
10. There were so many photographers there you felt like you were on the red carpet. You might actually be on the cover of several newspapers tomorrow morning!
Did you #FeeltheBern? Let us know about your experience!
