2016 is the year for movie adaptations of some of our favorite books or books that we’ve been waiting to read in the midst of our busy schedules. But all too often, trailers seem to pop up out of nowhere, not giving you enough time to actually finish reading the thing! And if you are the type of person that needs to read the book before seeing the movie, this never really works for you.

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
Released: January 22nd
The story follows a couple different teenage characters as they try to survive the four first waves designed for human annihilation by aliens. Cassie, the main female protagonist, is on a mission to find her kid brother while also trying to stay alive during the fifth wave.
The Choice By Nicholas Sparks
Released: February 5th
The Choice follows a bad boy townie and a girl who just moved in next door play a game of cat and mouse trying to date each other. When it looks like they finally can be together, tragedy strikes leaving her in a coma and him with a tough decision.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies By Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith
Released: February 5th
If you are familiar with Jane Austen’s classic, you can probably read this re-imagination fairly quickly. It is essentially the plot of Pride and Prejudice down to the love interest and the heartache, but with the added complication of zombies and survival.
How to be Single By Liv Tuccillo
Releases: February 12
The title is pretty self-explanatory, but this story follows a newly single girl who has to relearn the ropes of bar flirting and looking presentable. With Rebel Wilson as a lead, you know this is set to be one of the funniest book adaptations ever.
Allegiant By Veronica Roth
Releases: March 18
As this is the third installment of the Divergent Series, anyone interested would probably have read this one already. However, if you are just getting started on this series, you have until March 18 to fully catch up! This final installment will be split into two movies, this one being the first. It continues with the story of this dystopic future and Shailene Woodely’s character Tris’s efforts to break away from the world she’s always known.
