If you were born between 1999 to 2003, middle school was quite the fashion show. With the popular stores being UGGS, Victoria’s Secret PINK, Hollister Co., and Abercrombie and Fitch Co., the outfits were really quite different than what we see in middle schools today.
While some of these stores have decreased in popularity, one has been making quite the comeback. Abercrombie has recently stepped up its game, while it hasn’t gone through a major re-branding, influencers look to this “middle school staple” for modern and trendy pieces.
Abercrombie and Fitch Co.’s Brief History
Founded in 2000 and owner of Hollister Co., Abercrombie kids, Gilly Hicks and Social Tourist, Ambercrombie and Fitch Co. (otherwise known as Abercrombie) was a fairly popular clothing store.
Known for their logo clothing items, potent and dimly-lit stores and shirtless male models, Abercrombie was often the store of choice for middle schoolers around 2012 to 2014.
As years go by and those zip-up hoodies go out of style, it has become apparent that Abercrombie is here for the long run.
Influencers Sporting Abercrombie and Fitch Co.
With social media being crucial in the retail space when it comes to promoting brands, it has been good to Abercrombie that influencers have noticed their style change.
One influencer in particular that has heavily promoted Abercrombie is Abigail Salz, @absalz on TikTok. Her TikTok account with over 71,000 followers showcases the many different denim styles and cute pieces that Abercrombie offers. She styles each outfit in a simplistic, neutral fashion that is very trendy for the fall/winter season.
There has been a lot of hype specifically surrounding Abercrombie’s denim. They sell an array of cuts, colors and sizes of denim to flatter any body type. Each pair of jeans is made with quality denim that aims to flatter your legs and lift up your booty. What more could you ask for?
Not only are the selections at Abercrombie trendy, but they are affordable, matching prices with popular stores like American Eagle and Princess Polly. They also hold frequent sales online that make their pieces much more affordable for college students.
Currently, the styles available are perfect fall pieces with neutral colors and pieces great for layering. They have flannels, jackets, denim and bodysuits to create the perfect pumpkin patch look.
Abercrombie now is not at all like the Abercrombie it was years ago, it has changed with the times, a lot like people and brands do. While their clothes might not have their signature “A&F’ branded on them anymore, they are on the rise to becoming a staple brand in everyone’s wardrobe.
You can shop all styles in stores or on Abercrombie.com to hop back on the bandwagon.
