Amber is the Color of Your Energy

Brainstorm, take yourself away from the norm. After giving “Amber” by 311 a listen, the song can have the ability to transport your mind to a tropical beach vacation. Picture this; your favorite music is blaring in the car, the windows are down, the wind blows through your hair and you’re simply enjoying your friends’ company, driving to a nearby beach to watch the sunrise.

We aspire to have days like this more often, however, the reality of the matter is that summer has passed and school is in session. Whether you have that major exam coming up this semester or you simply just need a little pick-me-up throughout your crazy day, inheriting amber energy is essential.

However, what if I told you there is a way to obtain and maintain that “amber” mentality we all deeply wish to grasp daily? Well, as the old saying goes, there is a way if there is a will.

What is “Amber Energy”? 

To start off, amber is a fossilized tree resin, meant to protect tree bark and is often used as a healing agent in folk medicine. On the other hand though, amber also is thought to help absorb negative energy and to release bright, soothing energy, helping to calm nerves and enliven disposition like a mental sunny day. 

This may look like a phenomenon to us college students, due to how overwhelmed and stressed we make ourselves to do good in school. As our schedules become more hectic than ever, we independently strive to take pride in being productive, find healthy habits unique to us and look to surrounded ourselves by people who have the same mentality as us.

However, that is up to you and no one else. It is YOUR job to recognize how the energy you bring out into the world will naturally be the same energy you receive in return. Amber energy is in your control; It may come in different shades of gold, but as long as you proceed to identify what you must change to obtain it is when you will begin to glisten with time.

How Do I Achieve Amber Energy? 

It’s simple really, not pertaining to how it’s an easy task to uphold. However, there are daily activities, habits, characteristics, routines and overall changes you can begin to slowly but surely implement into your life and do for yourself in order to magnify your amber energy like never before. 

Ultimately, amber and positive energy as a whole refers to an attitude you must embrace that is encouraging, productive and beneficial to your body and mind.

Steps to Finding Your Amber Energy: 

First things first, navigate ways to reduce your stress. Whether it’s running 100 miles per hour on the treadmill, exercising or getting out of the house to change your environment, stress is the main opponent to accessing the amber energy that you have from within. 

Trust me, it may sound silly, but going on walks to clear your mind, eating healthy throughout your day from class to class and making sure you are getting at least 8 hours of sleep every night can create a huge impact that subconsciously you wouldn’t even realize.

Understanding the Law of Attraction is the second biggest step to success in retrieving your amber energy. This concept can detect how the energy of your thoughts manifest your experiences; So positive thoughts manifest positive experiences and vice versa.

What this means is that you must start to surround yourself with people who naturally acquire positive thinking in order to produce desirable experiences. A common phrase thrown around lousily is how we are defined by the people we hang out with, but there is no lie detected there. 

If we were to remove negative things from our lives to make space for more positive things and focus our energy in finding ways to make the present moment the best that it can be, it can change your life like you could never imagine.

Last but not least has to come from within yourself. To have a healthy relationship with yourself in ways you may be doing right now. Creating positive energy can be unique from one individual to another, but to transform your mood from negative to positive, it’s important to surround yourself with positive energy, feelings, and people. 

Embrace your inner “Bob the Builder”, open up that tool box and recognize what tools you can utilize to improve your overall mood and attitude throughout the day.

It could be listening to your favorite music, reading inspirational books, writing down your thoughts in a journal, morning meditations before class, creating boundaries with people in your life or making your bed before school are ways you may find yourself shining without even realizing it.

At the end of the day, rumination can affect our lives as students because stress can be determined by a number of factors, examples being like the workload we are given from that one tedious teacher or the fight we just got into with a friend. 

The sun will always set to rise for a new day, so to release that anxiety, OCD or overthinking running through your mind, take action in combating your negative thoughts with the advice and steps listed above to tap into your “amber energy”, because lets face it; It’s time to become a new you.
