At Home Rage Room

Society has given people the pleasure of having designated places to lash out and break inanimate objects uncontrollably, not at a furniture store or classroom, but in a rage room. You get to dress up in hazmat-like outfits with plastic glasses and a bat, which sounds like a dream come true for some who have serious built-up aggression over their monster of an ex.

However, places like these don’t just pop up like a Dunkin Donuts. So what is someone to do when you find out that your roommate is trying to get out of their lease or your boyfriend is texting girls he told you not to worry about? Unfortunately, the answer is not to flip over the lamp.

Don’t worry; other solutions are semi-healthy and even … therapeutic.

Find The Nearest Airpod or Speaker

With the rise of pop-princesses like Sabrina Carpenter and Tate Mcrae, the odds of you finding a lyric you resonate with on their most recent albums are high. It might be scientifically proven that angrily listening to a song that feels like pink glitter and sledgehammers is actually peaceful.

This can be a solo or group activity. Certain songs like “That’s So True” by Gracie Abrams and “The Grudge” by Olivia Rodrigo that could be surgically injected into your veins are like pain relievers. Scream-singing, if done correctly, scratches the same itch as throwing a vase against the wall.

Lyrical geniuses like Taylor Swift were put on this earth to rage for those who can’t. Listening to the music so intently is the next best thing you can get to writing the song yourself.

Let Your Private Story Hear It

Oh, private stories, the best invention next to Uber Eats and light bulbs. If you can’t scream at the person who caused your pent-up aggression, then vent it out on an exclusive story that you have complete control over.

Nowadays almost every social media app has a story setting that allows you to post unserious content for 24 hours. TikTok is a personal favorite because you can even act out your aggression through videos and songs. “Free Now” by Gracie Abrams is meant to be screamed at to a screen; it is not just walking to-class music.

Worried about the person seeing it? That’s what the block button is for. Or if that’s too extreme, there is such a thing as free will and just posting whatever you want. This takes a lot of courage but seriously is just as good as hitting a baseball bat into a glass table.

Confrontation is not for everyone so these are much better alternatives. Peaceful? Not too sure about that one, but they are definitely helpful.
