We start the year by telling ourselves that this is it; we’re going to make a change and work on getting healthier, fitter and we cannot put it off any longer. If you are struggling with how to begin, start with a simple smoothie. This recipe is delicious, filling and low calorie.
This banana peanut butter smoothie tastes like a milkshake, but there’s absolutely nothing to feel guilty about when relishing this treat.
Ingredients:
1 cup fat free milk
1 ½ cups raw spinach
2 tablespoons powdered peanut butter
1 frozen banana cut in thirds
Directions:
1. Stuff the spinach in the bottom of the blender to guarantee it is blended well.
2. Pour in milk and blend until spinach is liquefied (it will be bright green).
3. Add frozen banana and pulse for 20 seconds or until banana is in smaller chunks.
4. Mix in the powdered peanut butter and blend until the drink is at a creamy milkshake consistency (be careful not to over blend.)
5. Enjoy!
Special Hint: For easy blender clean-up, rinse with water, add a drop of dish soap, blend for a couple of seconds and rinse.
