The Oscars (noun) — arguably the most important award show of the year, filled with some of the best high fashion red carpet moments. The 2019 Oscars, which aired this past Sunday, featured big wins, a lot of Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, but mostly some iconic fashion moments. Here’s a few of the best 2019 Oscars fashion moments.

Billy Porter

Nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Billy Porter took the red carpet by storm in a Christian Siriano tuxedo gown made of velvet. If you haven’t seen Porter and this amazing gown all over Instagram and Twitter, you might recognize him from “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” or FX’s new series, “Pose.” Even if you haven’t binged watch AHS: “Apocalypse” or “Pose,” Billy Porter’s appearance on the red carpet makes him unforgettable.

Lady Gaga

Ever since “A Star is Born” was premiered, the world has been waiting for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Oscars incredible performance of none other than the original song, “Shallow.” Lady Gaga, who is now an Oscar winner for the Best Original Song, resembled Audrey Hepburn in her black Alexander McQueen gown with a 128.54 carat diamond necklace, which according to ELLE Magazine, has only been worn three time and once by Audrey Hepburn herself.

Gemma Chan

Gemma Chan, who starred one of the biggest movies of the summer,”Crazy Rich Asians,” showed up to the Oscars in a bold and bright pink Valentino dress. Most importantly, her Valentino gown had hidden pockets which she used to sneak cookies into the event. To quote Chan herself, “the hunger is real.”

Brie Larson

Oscar winner, Brie Larson, who won Best Actress in 2016 for her performance in “Room,” rocked the 2016 Oscars in a royal blue gown as she graciously accepted her award. But Larson, who stars in the new movie “Captain Marvel,” which comes out March 7, shined at the 2019 Oscars with none other than a metallic silver gown with a halter top and a high slit.

Kacey Musgraves

Just like Gemma Chan, Kacey Musgraves and many other celebrities got the memo when it comes to the powerhouse color of pink at this year’s Oscars. Musgraves, the six-time Grammy winner who just released her album “Golden Hour,” wore a baby pink Giambattista Valli gown with lots of tulle. She and many other celebs such as Sarah Paulson, Linda Cardellini and Maya Rudolph all sported the biggest trend of this year’s Oscars: pink.

Chadwick Boseman, who starred in Black Panther, which won both Best Original Music Score and Best Costume Design, wore a Tom Ford suit with a long sequined overcoat to this year’s Oscars. When it comes to award shows, Boseman is known for his next level fashion moments which have put him on some of the best dressed lists in the past year. Who could ever forget the suit Chadwick Boseman wore to 2018 Met Ball?

Elsie Fisher

Attending her first Oscars, Elsie Fisher, the star of the comedian Bo Burnham’s directorial debut film,”Eighth Grade,” rocked a Thom Browne suit with a matching black handbag disguised as a present. Fisher, who said her choice to wear a suit “felt more like me,” wasn’t the only leading lady to rock a suit at the Oscars. Others such as Awkwafina, who starred in “Crazy Rich Asians,” looked amazing in a powerful pantsuit.

Chris Evans, who adorably served as Oscar winner Regina King’s escort by helping her walk about the stairs, stood out in a blue suit jacket this past Sunday. Evans, who is about to star in the sequel to “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: Endgame” this year, stole the hearts of Oscar watchers with his sweet encounter with Regina King, deeming Twitter to crown him as “the best Chris” of Hollywood.
