The last time you may have heard the name “Bridgit Mendler”, could have been in the beginning credits of your favorite Disney TV show. In recent years, she has strived to show everyone what Bridgit Mendler can do: and, boy, it’s A LOT.
Bridgit, the Disney Star
Mendler’s career originally took off as an actress for the childhood TV program Disney, starring as Teddy Duncan in “Good Luck Charlie” and Juliet in “Wizards of Waverly Place”. This generation had categorized her as one of the actresses that brought joy and laughter to nationwide households.
Following her acting, Mendler decided to focus more on producing music after she starred and sang in the movie “Lemonade Mouth”. To no surprise, the Disney star blew everyone out of the water. Like most fans of 2010s music, VALLEY still listens to her hit songs “Ready or Not” and “Hurricane” on repeat.
Bridgit, the Ivy League Student
In 2016, Mendler decided her days at Disney were over and intended to pursue greater education. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a degree in anthropology, she immediately started her graduate program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2017.
During her years at MIT, Mendler focused heavily on her research regarding social media and completed an M.S. in arts and sciences. In the middle of her research with MIT, she had also indicated she was enrolled in Harvard Law School, earning a J.D. on top of her pursuit of an M.S.
Oh, and during all of this, she married her husband Griffin Cleverly in 2019. At the beginning of this year, she tweeted on X that she officially became a mother to her 4-year-old adopted son. Mendler has mastered the art of work-life balance like no other.
Bridgit, the CEO
Now, you’re probably thinking, “She won’t be doing anything else, she has two degrees from top schools, an entire career from Disney and a family to look after. She must be burnt out.” Wrong!
In 2023, Mendler co-founded her satellite data startup alongside her husband. The goals of this startup, Northwood Space, focus on mass-producing satellite ground stations to improve the quality of space homes. The couple launched the startup in 2024 with over $6.3 million from investors.
Throughout her entire career, Mendler never lost touch with philanthropy. She became an ambassador for a company that donates books to those in need and donated to countless charities since 2010 with the help of Disney.
There is NOTHING She Can’t Do
Since the late 2000s, Bridgit Mendler’s career as a Disney actress has singlehandedly inspired her to build her resume further. She has accomplished so much, including earning multiple degrees, her own business, a family and tons of charity work.
Thank you, Bridgit Mendler. You have encouraged everyone that there is still time to learn and grow no matter where you come from. VALLEY appreciates all that you do and we are so excited to see what’s to come.
