She once called State College her home, and now she’s vying for love on national television. Cara Ammon, a recent Penn State alumna, made her debut on the latest season of ‘The Bachelor’. Though her time on the show was short-lived, her presence brought a touch of familiarity and rallied support from her family, friends, and Penn State peers.
Her Time at Penn State
Cara Ammon was a graduate of Penn State’s Class of 2017. According to her LinkedIn profile, Ammon received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management from Smeal College of Business. Ammon studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain for a semester during her time at Penn State. She also participated in greek life and was in Kappa Kappa Gamma’s sorority. Now she lives in New York City as a Lateral Recruiter at J.P. Morgan.

Fans can learn a lot about Ammon through her Instagram account. Ammon’s social life seems to be thriving with almost 4,000 followers and over 400 posts. Cara has a clear love for fashion, food, and travel. She also goes on trips often with her friends often to glamorous places like Aspen, Colorado, Miami and Italy.
Bachelor Bio
As her ABC Bio mentions, Cara is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. She has tried using dating apps and being set up on dates, but she still is yet to find the perfect man to call her husband. Some things Cara enjoys are listening to Justin Beiber, listening to Christmas music and exploring her city. Her bio also notes that “Nothing upsets Cara more than seeing garbage on the sidewalk,” and “Cara is not a good cook, but she is great at ‘assembling meals.’”
On The Episode
As one of 30 girls vying for Zach Shallcross’s love, Ammon didn’t seem to have much luck during her time on the show. Her limo entrance scene was brief but unique. Cara was wearing a simple and elegant bright blue slip dress. When she first met Zach, she said to him: “I’ve actually been on at least, let’s say, 30 first dates or something like that… and I’m really hoping you’re my last first date.” Other than their first brief interaction, Ammon wasn’t shown many other times throughout the season premiere. The camera didn’t show any one-on-one time between Cara and Zach. During the rose ceremony, Cara did not receive a rose from Season 27’s Bachelor Zach Shallcross. Ammon was one out of ten girls eliminated in the first episode.
Her Interview with TRIB Live
Ammon recently had a phone interview with TRIB Live where she shared a bit about herself and talked about her brief time on ‘The Bachelor’. She confirmed that she didn’t get any time to talk privately with Zach during her time at the ‘Bachelor’ mansion. Previous to being on the show, Ammon was in a long-term relationship. Looking for a change, she was excited to be there and thought it was a great opportunity. Included in her interview with TRIB Live, Cara mentioned: “I think the experience has also opened my eyes and going on that was something that was a little bit out of my comfort zone — not my typical experience so I’m trying to… push myself out of the comfort zone… I think good things will happen from that.”
Although PSU graduate Cara Ammon’s time on ‘The Bachelor’ came to an end, her journey to find love continues as she pushes herself out of her comfort zone and looks to the future for new opportunities.
