We all have ways of making ourselves feel better when we’re down in the dumps. Maybe you go on a shopping spree, treat yourself to your favorite foods or spend time with friends. We all have things we know make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
But shouldn’t we treat ourselves to what we love all the time?
Yes, absolutely. You don’t need to be sad to take the time to celebrate yourself. In fact, studies show that people who take the time to do the things they love on a regular basis are less stressed and more happy overall than those who don’t.
So here are some ways to celebrate you!
Buy Yourself Some Sexy New Undies
Buying underwear is by far the most fun way to celebrate your body. There is nothing more exciting than buying a brand new set of frilly panties. You feel sexy, and most importantly you’re buying them for you not a boy.
Plus, they’re a gift that keeps on giving because every time you wear them you feel more sexy and confident, and you remember that you bought them as a treat for yourself.
Make Yourself A Fancy Dinner and Dessert
Experimenting in the kitchen can be a great way to distract yourself from stressful things going on in your life. Even if you’re not an experienced cook, following a recipe can be really easy, and really fun too! Because you’re cooking for yourself, there’s no pressure to impress anyone, and you get to make whatever sounds good to you!
“When I’m stressed during the week, I really like to make myself chicken parm,” says Stephanie Kuebler, a sophomore marketing major. “I know it’s not much, but it’s my favorite and I always feel better about everything that’s going on with me once I’ve had a nice dinner.”
So turn up the music, dance around the kitchen and treat yourself to a meal that you would normally only have once a year. It makes you feel extra special without breaking the bank.
Take A Relaxing Bath
If you live in the dorms, I’m sorry this is a tough one. But taking a bath is a great way to decompress and just relax for a little while. Get bath salts or make yourself a body scrub with brown sugar and olive oil and take the time to do a little preening. So much of the time our lives are so fast paced that we don’t make the time to pamper ourselves, but taking a half an hour to treat yourself makes a big difference in your skin and your mind.
