Now that October has ended, the holiday season is approaching, and it’s time to start thinking about Christmas! If you’re that person that can’t wait for the Christmas season to roll around again and like to start getting into the holiday spirit early, luckily, Christmas movies have already started airing on TV.
First off, we have the classic Hallmark Countdown to Christmas! There’s nothing better than sitting down and watching a Hallmark Christmas movie, guaranteed to have a happy ending! This year, Hallmark is coming out with 23 new Christmas movies. New movies premier every week on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 pm on-the-go through the Hallmark app or on TV on the Hallmark channel. On October 24th, the Christmas movies started airing on TV. “Jingle Bell Bride” aired on the 24th and was about a wedding planner who traveled to Alaska and fell in love with the town and a handsome local.
On the 25th, “Chateau Christmas” aired, taking a spin on Hallmark’s classic storylines, and telling the story of a pianist who returned to her hometown and worked with her ex-boyfriend to headline a Christmas concert. This past weekend, on October 31st, “One Royal Holiday” aired, telling the story of a girl, Ana, who opened her home to a stranded family caught in a blizzard, who ended up being royalty. On November 1st, “On the 12th Date of Christmas” aired. This week, “Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater” airs November 7th, and “Christmas with the Darlings” airs November 8th. Freeform released their Kickoff to Christmas for the month of November, featuring some classics and some heart-felt Disney movies. The focus is on movie nights to get you in the spirit. Every day of the month there’s a movie to watch. You can watch these movies on the Freeform app or on the Freeform channel. If you’re looking to go strictly Christmas:
- November 1st: Disney’s “Frozen” and “Christmas with the Kranks”, starting at 6:55 pm
- November 6th: All of the “Santa Claus” movies, starting at 4:30 pm
- November 8th: “The Nightmare Before Christmas” at 3:10 pm
- November 14th: “Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”, starting at 6:45 pm
- November 18th: “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” (2009) at 9:00 pm
- November 19th: “Miracle on 34th Street” (1994) at 8:30 pm
- November 21st: “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000) at 8:45 pm

Lastly, we have Netflix! Netflix has a whole lineup of Christmas-themed movies and TV shows airing in November. Starting off with movies, “The Christmas Chronicles: Part 2” will be released November 25th, and Kate Pierce will be reunited with Santa in hopes of saving Christmas. “Christmas Jangle: A Christmas Journey”, will air November 13th, and will be a good one to watch if you love musicals! “Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square” will be released on November 22nd, focusing on the power of music and saving a cold-hearted woman’s hometown.
Vanessa Hudgens is back for “The Princess Switch: Switched Again”, coming out November 19th and Duchess Margaret and Stacy are tag-teaming again! “Operation Christmas Drop”, starring Kat Graham, will be released November 5th, and the fate of an airborne Christmas tradition will be left in the hands of Erica and Captain Andrew Jantz. “Alien Xmas” will be released on November 20th.
Now onto TV shows. A New York City love story, “Dash and Lily”, will be released November 10th about a boy named Dash and a girl named Lily who find each other after passing a red notebook through the city. “Sugar Rush Christmas: Season 2”, “Holiday Home Makeover with Mr. Christmas”, and “Dance Dreams: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker”, will also be released this month.
