The rolling suitcases have been collected from the airport; the bank accounts are looking particularly low. You know what that means, spring break is over. Another great week of memories with your best college friends has taken over your Instagram feed and camera rolls, but the end of spring break comes with a scary realization: there are less than two more months of school.
First, second and third years, this probably means little to you, except that now you’re looking for internships and celebrating the last few 21-year-old birthday parties. For seniors, this is the end of an era. A scary and big goodbye for your last four years. For those graduating, spring break starts the countdown to the last few months of your youth.
Although it’s scary, it’s important to embrace this time with open arms. It’s time to experience every piece of State College you have wanted before heading toward your future.
Guess what this calls for? A bucket list!
That’s right, the age-old friend of anyone trying to accomplish something in a short amount of time. For the seniors, that means creating a bucket list full of fun. Here are some tips and trick for making the perfect final Penn State bucket list.
Identify The Things You Have Always Been Dying to Do and Never Got The Chance
Never climbed Mount Nittany but always wanted to? Never been to the Waffle Shop after a long night? How about tried out a bar you’ve never been to, like Sharkies or the Brewery? Now is your chance! Write down three (accomplishable) activities to try out in state college before you leave.
Come Up With Your Absolute Must-Do State College Activities
Now, these are probably things you have done a million times, but they never fail to be special to you. What are your favorite things to do in State College? Write down a few that you know you could do with your last month of school. Some examples could be eating out at your favorite restaurants (cough, cough… Lupitas) or making sure you sing one last song at Gaffeoke! This piece of your bucket list is extra special because it will remind you of all your amazing memories and have you looking forward to many more!
Recruit Your Best Friends for Extra Fun and Accountability
A bucket list is an easy thing to write and a much less easy thing to carry through with. For an easy and fun way to stay motivated, make sure you let your friends know about your new, fabulous list. You could even encourage them to make their own too! This way, you will have people who will make sure you can complete your goals and live it up during your last two months of school.
Leaving college can be one of the strangest parts of a young adult’s life. So many decisions to make, and it feels like there’s such little time. Take time to embrace where you are and who you are with. You’ve done it! You are accomplished and brave. Take this time you have left to be with those you love in a place you love… Happy Valley!
