ABC’s Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) is in full swing with competition already ramped up in week two. This week’s episode was Oscar-themed, and a double elimination round pushed for beautifully choreographed routines and stunning costumes. The audience saw tributes to movies like “The Great Gatsby”, “Dirty Dancing” and “The Godfather.”

The work that the stars put in paid off this week. Judges Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba were blown away by the talent they saw on the floor. Still, they never let their professionalism get away from them, providing hard truth when necessary.

America’s Sweethearts

Last Tuesday, many partners stood out at the premier and stole the hearts of DWTS fans.

This week again was nothing short of sensational for Bachelor’s star Joey Graziadei and professional Jenna Johnson. They performed the Ramba to “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born”. It was an intimate dance that showed off Graziadei’s hips and flexibility. After coming off a hot bachelor season, fans are starting to wonder what Graziadei can’t do. The pair earned a 22/30 score from the judges for this routine.

Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader and professional Gleb Savchencko are a pair that can’t seem to get enough of each other. During interviews, TikToks and throughout their routines, there is intense chemistry between the two. They are young, hot and single; so fans are starting to speculate that there is more than just dancing at play with them.

This week they danced the quick step to “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton. They earned a 20/30 score from the judges, and while Nader still has her work cut out for her, it is clear how much fun the two have when dancing together.

Not only is there sexual tension on the dance floor, but friendships are forming there that fans can tell will last a lifetime. Olympic gold-medalist Ilona Maher and professional Alan Bersten are bringing the humor to the show.

The pair danced the salsa to “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” as a tribute to the classic movie, “Dirty Dancing”. The crowd loved how much fun watching the dance was and how the pair took turns performing stunts. One minute Bersten was lifting Maher to mimic the iconic lift between Baby and Johnny and the next Maher was flipping Bersten.

While the Rookies are performing exceptionally well, there is one star that stands out as a natural born dancer. Actress Chandler Kinney partnered with Brandon Armstrong to steal the judges’ attention after their premier performance. Kinney came back even better for week two; Bruno Tonioli gave Armstrong advice instead of her.

With the excitement of new dances and costumes, comes the bitter-sweet goodbyes to pairings who do not make it to week three.

While the judges’ votes do matter, the decision relies on the votes of fans who text their top-picks in throughout the evening.

Most fans expected to say goodbye to stars Reginald Vejjohnson and Eric Roberts because of their age disadvantage in the show. Surprisingly, those two survived this double elimination.

Surprisingly, it was stars Anna Delvey and Tori Spelling who were voted off this week. Delvey’s removal came as quite a shock to some viewers, while others were happy to see her go. Her brutal honesty was mistaken for dry humor when asked by host Julianne Hough what she will take away from the show, Anna simply said “nothing”.

Teasers have already been released for week three, putting fans at the edge of their seats for this Tuesday’s episode.
