Just because we all go to Penn State, doesn’t mean we have to trap ourselves on campus 24/7. While you’re a student here, you and your friends have to take advantage of what this gem of a town has to offer. Here a few of our favorite ideas to get you started:
What-A-Blast Extreme Laser Tag
When’s the last time you played a good game of laser tag? Located at 111 Sowers Street (right next to R U Hungry), What-A-Blast provides a fantastic way to blow off steam. Sneaking around corners, ducking and shooting like a boss and taking yourself way too seriously under a black light is one of the best things… ever.
Concerts and Other Performances
Take advantage of the diverse performances that come to State College. Whether it’s a Penn State group putting on a play, a free concert at the HUB or a performance at the State Theatre, really talented people are putting on shows just for you! You don’t want to regret not taking advantage of any of these awesome chances. Keep an eye out for events that might interest you.
Take a Hike
Slowly but surely, it’s getting warmer! What better way to celebrate the changing of the seasons than going on a nice, leisurely hike? Statecollege.com lists a bunch of different trails, so pick one (or a few) and hike it with a friend one fine Saturday.

Tussey Mountain
Tussey is well known for being an awesome ski spot, but it has much more to offer. Okay, it’s clearly not summer time (sorry to remind everyone). But because most of us have hectic academic schedules right now, summer will be here before you know it. Which means concerts, wing fests, and State College’s own Oktoberfest (filled with beer and music) are coming to Tussey before you know it. Check out their website and put these events on your calendar! It’s fairly cheap and an awesome atmosphere on the mountain.
