On Sept. 16, MTV’s “Double Shot At Love” aired its third season, featuring “Jersey Shore” stars Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio Jr. and Vinny Guadagnino with the mission of finding love for the latter. This time around, there are 17 girls competing for Guadagnino’s heart.
The two best friends have been stuck together since the first season of “Jersey Shore,” which debuted in 2009. They used to be known as bachelors, as they’d frequently use terms such as “DTF” and “grenades” to describe women in clubs that they would bring back to their shore home. Now that they’ve grown up, both of them are seriously searching for love.
The first two seasons were successful for DelVecchio as he is currently in a relationship with Nikki Hall, who makes some appearances this season as well. The difference from this season compared to the others is that the competition is solely focused on Guadagnino. In season one, the girls were dating both DelVecchio and Guadagnino, creating more than just a love triangle. The second season was not the traditional setup of the show, as they reunited with some of the girls from the first season in Las Vegas to work at Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub.
In this new search for love, Guadagnino is aided by DelVecchio and Hall as he meets all the girls because he gets overwhelmed easily. Guadagnino already knew Jovanna Del Plato, who has been his bottle service waitress in Atlantic City, and says he thought she was too out of his league.
Another girl Guadagnino knows is Maria Elizondo, who was a contestant in the first season and had a connection to Guadagnino as they grew very close during the airing of the show. Elizondo returns during the second episode of this season to offer the new girls some advice.
During the first elimination ceremony, Guadagnino felt very pressured and did not want to make any decisions he could later regret, which resulted in his postponing of the first elimination.
“Jersey Shore” cast members Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley are expected to make guest appearances as well this season in order to help Guadagnino. If you missed an episode or want to rewatch previous seasons, “Double Shot At Love” is available now on MTV.
Next week’s episode will air Thursday at 9 p.m. on MTV. Are you going to tune in? If so, tell us what you think of the season so far by tagging us, @VALLEYmag, on Twitter!
