As summer draws to a close, the air turns crisp and fall is well on its way, we start to prepare for the most festive time of year — spooky season. Don’t let your costume wait until the last minute this year — VALLEY has compiled a list of easy, creative ideas to get spooky this Halloween! The best part? All of these ideas are relatively low maintenance and low cost, or you may even already have some of these pieces in your closet!
Alcohol Brands
If you’ve been anywhere near TikTok in the last year, you already know where we’re going with this one. This option is exactly what you make it — you can make go all out with it or keep it simple. Star by printing out your favorite alcohol brand’s logo and hot glue or hodgepodge it to a cowboy hat. You can get fancy by adding rhinestones, sequins, feathers or beads, depending on how decked-out you want to look.
This is an easy look whether you’re trying to keep it simple or go all out this Halloween. To tie in the cowgirl theme, pair with a sparkly fringe skirt like this one from Amazon and a pair of boots. If you’re looking to keep it simple, find a color-coordinating outfit (wear black and pink for Pink Whitney, yellow and blue for Twisted Teas, etc.). The hat is the focal point of this look, so you have room to get creative with your outfit. This one can be done either on your own or with a group!
Bratz Dolls
With Y2K back in style, this is one almost anyone can piece together with items from your closet! The Bratz girls have hundreds of different outfits, so there’s no strict blueprint to be recognized as a Bratz doll. Pull out the most-early 00s pieces in your closet — halters, bell bottoms, fun patterns, bright colors, newsboy hats, fluffy jackets — or if you want to put in a little more effort, you can buy shirts with the Bratz logo printed on them and pair them with some fabulous accessories.
The Bratz are known for their signature pouts, so be sure to pull out your favorite lip liner for this look! Find your best bling (VALLEY recommends hoop earrings, stud nose rings and sparkly necklaces) and pair with some killer boots or stilettos to tie it all together. This is another easy one to do with a group or on your own — get your girl gang together to go as the whole Bratz group or rock it on your own!
Jersey Shore Cast
If you own anything in leopard print, you’re already halfway done with this one! Whether you want to get specific with it and dress up as a specific member of the cast or just dress like it’s Jerzday, this is going to be an easy one to pull off. Tube tops, mini skirts, towering heels and a fake tan are key components of nailing this look. Tease your hair, grab your biggest pair of hoops, pull out your retired Uggs and voilá — you’re looking fresh to death.
Fairies
This is going to be a popular option this spooky season, but it’s super easy to make it your own! There’s no doubt we’ve all seen that viral photo of Kendall Jenner’s fairy costume from a few Halloween’s past, but it’s doubtful we’ve all got the same budget she’s working with. You don’t need to spend a lot to pull this one off, and you have plenty of ways to style this magical look, whether you’re going as a famous fairy like Tinkerbell or the Winx Club girls or making this look all your own!
There are so many ways to create your fairy costume, and it all comes down to personal preference. Opt for a pretty corset and flouncy skirt for a more intricate look or a chic mini dress to keep things simple and dress it up with accessories. You can accessorize with dainty jewelry like dangly earrings, stackable rings and necklaces that can be layered to elevate your look! For more drama, add some fake flowers to your hair or use sparkly pins and barettes. Finish off your look with some fairy wings (and maybe some fake ears?) and there’s no doubt you’ll look fresh out of an enchanted forest.
