Everything You Need to Know About Homecoming Week

It is officially Homecoming week at Penn State, and VALLEY is here to fill you in on all the exciting and pride-filled events happening around campus. This week celebrates the students and alumni that have made Penn State the great university we all call home!

Pollock Party

When: Nov. 6

Where: Pollock Courtyard

You won’t want to miss this carnival-inspired event!

Past to Present

When: Nov. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: HUB

Past to Present celebrates the current and the past Penn State. There will be food, performances and fun activities that will give students the chance to learn more about Penn State history.

For the Glory Talent Show

When: Nov. 7

Where: Eisenhower Auditorium

Organizations, students and the homecoming court will perform skits, songs, dances and more!

Best Of Penn State Carnival and Field Day

When: Nov. 8

Where: HUB lawn

Inflatables, carnival games and food—this celebration is one of the largest and most exciting events of Homecoming week. Best of Penn State carnival will include live performances and music!

Parade and Ice Cream Social

When: Nov. 10

Where: University Park

The parade is the chance for organizations to come together and participate in the procession that starts on campus and continues throughout State College. The banner and float competitions takes place during the parade. Each float and banner has a theme that represents the organization. You won’t want to miss the awesome floats and banners that student organizations have created. The Grand Marshal, John Urschel, will ride in a convertible during the parade joined by the Honorary Grand Marshal, Scott Shirley.

Homecoming Football Game

When: Nov. 11 at noon

Where: Beaver Stadium

The pinnacle of Homecoming week is, of course, the football game against Rutgers. Before the game, students and alumni can participate in the annual tailgate competition where tailgates are judged based on food, creativity, and spirit. The winners will be announced before the game. During half-time at the game, the homecoming queen and king will be announced.
