After a long and relaxing week of beaches, warm weather and sunshine, you’ve arrived home from spring break with a radiant tan. Of course, it is still March and we live in State College, therefore the springtime and sunshine won’t be here for another few weeks.
But you love your glowing skin and cannot bear to see it fade! Valley understands how important it is to maintain that spring break radiance, so we found tips on how to extend your healthy glow from the inside and out.
Feed Your Tan: What you are putting into your body can make a difference on how your skin turns out. By drinking lots of water and remaining hydrated, your skin will have the natural moisture it needs to maintain a healthy glow. In addition, make sure to take a daily vitamin that will supply your body with the nutrients it needs to stay nourished.
Exfoliate and Moisturize: Next step in maintaining your tan is your skincare. It is important to exfoliate your skin at least once a week to ride your body of dead cells. Make sure to moisturize your skin every day with cream or body butter to provide your skin with the fats it needs. Doing both these things will not only help your tan last longer, but will avoid streaking and splotchy color from fake tanners.
Build Your Tan: Your glow can be easily maintained by consistently applying tanning lotion, preferably one that builds a gradual tan, rather than an instant one. By using a gradual tanner such as Jergens, you can easily monitor your color without getting to dark or streaky. There are many kinds of gradual tanners so try a few to see which one works best for your skin tone.
Quick Bronze: The final tip for extending your spring break glow can be easily added into your daily make-up routine. For instant radiant skin, try using a tinted moisturizer all over your body. It not only gives you a little bit of color but the shimmer will reflect the sunlight for an even brighter glow! Bronzer is another quick and easy solution. Using a kabuki brush, evenly spread bronzer around your cheekbones, neck and chest. However, be sure not to over do it, or else you may end up looking “cakey.”
By following these simple steps, you can be sure your skin will continue to shine even after the relaxing days of spring break have ended. And before you know it, the summer and sunshine will be here for another color boost!
