Fall has arrived! We love fall fashion and can’t wait to kick-start one of the most beautiful times of year with some great fall-inspired outfits. In order to build the ultimate fall wardrobe, you’re going to need a few things. We have compiled a check list of essential pieces that can be mixed and matched into different outfits to maximize and accentuate your fall wardrobe.
A fall hat
Whether it’s a fedora, a wide brim, a floppy, or even a bowler hat, find a fall-inspired hat that matches your style. We recommend neutral colored hats because they are easy to pair with your other pieces!
High-waisted blue jeans
True-blue high-waisted jeans are all the trend right now and essential to any wardrobe. The cool blue color gives a more classic feel and will compliment the warmer fall tones really nicely.
Booties
They’re stylish, comfortable and super wearable. What’s more to say?
Flannel
Probably one of the most renowned of the fall essentials, flannels can improve any outfit in multiple ways. They can be worn open over a t-shirt, buttoned up and tucked into some boyfriend jeans, or tied around your waist for a laid back feel.
Thigh high boots
Thigh high (or over the knee) boots started popping up last winter on the runway and are expected to be one of the biggest trends of 2015. They’re appearing in stores everywhere and definitely deserve a spot on our check list. Wear them with a casual sweater dress during the day or an LBD at night to look amazing and stay warm!
Fall-colored floral dress
Who said floral patterns were just for spring? Try a long sleeved, loose floral dress that has a pattern consisting mainly of darker, or “fall colors.” (This would be another great item to pair with those thigh high boots!)
Green anorak jacket
For those chillier fall days, anoraks are the way to go. The loose, military look pairs great with similar styled clothing, but can also be used to tone down a more feminine outfit, like a blush-colored blouse.
Vests (lots and lots of vests)
This was an obvious one, but be open to trying different styles. Always take advantage of the go-to tailored puffer vest, but also try out a military vest or an extra long sleeveless coat this season. Layering is the key to keep any outfit eye-catching and trendy.
Over sized cardigan
For those chilly, stay-in-with-some-hot-cider-and-watch-Netflix days, every girl needs a loose, chunky oversized cardigan. Of course leggings and boots are a classic choice to pair it with, but don’t forget to wear it over a loose dress or with some printed pants!
