As temperatures fall and the weather gets chillier, it is essential to make the switch to clothing that can keep you warm, but also trendy. There are a ton of different textures and fabrics that accompany the fall weather and experience perfectly.
Corduroy
Corduroy is a classic fall pattern that never seems to fail. The thickness will stay warmer in colder weather while also providing a soft feeling to it. These pants from The Ragged Priest are a great example and would go perfect with any tee or sweatshirt with sneakers.
Leather
Leather is another great option because it works quite efficiently to keep in the warmth. More sustainable options that have blown up online by fashion lovers are these pants from Aritzia. These are actually vegan leather, so you can appreciate the look and feel without the guilt. Although they may be somewhat of a statement, they are easy to style and comfortable to wear.
Suede
Suede shoes are always a good look and are better quality and thicker than canvas shoes. The Vintage Suede One Stars from Converse are a cute throwback and will also keep your feet warm. The off-white color would match well with a variety of pieces, but there are also colors like black and navy.
Plaid
Plaid is a classic, tried and true, traditional fall fabric. The plaid blazer has come back as a recent trend and can make any outfit a bit more sophisticated. This blazer from Reformation is a great sustainable option and is made of wool, which is perfect for cold weather. Although this is a nice piece, cheaper dupes could easily be found at a thrift store for those with a lower budget.
Animal Print
Animal print does not present the same level of functionality compared to some of the other fabrics but has been a current trend that has been holding on for a while and is definitely staying for fall. Some trending prints have been cheetah, zebra, and cow, but House of Sunny has dropped this pair of dalmatian print pants. These would be perfect with a basic top and some chunky sneakers or boots.
It is always fun to keep the textures of your clothes current and trendy, but also functional. Fall is the perfect time for layers of different textures and colors. Be sure to tag us on Instagram, @VALLEYmag with your new fall wardrobe.
