Five Disney-inspired Outfits

Fashion inspiration can come in many forms. Whether you’re thumbing through a magazine, window shopping or stalking Instagram posts, great ideas for outfits can come from anywhere. One source of fashion inspiration Valley recently found was in the very thing we loved as children — Disney princesses! The following are five Disney-inspired looks that can be used for any occasion.

1. Snow White    

To start off this list, Valley chose Disney’s oldest princess: Snow White. This outfit was modeled after her traditional yellow and blue dress. It is ideal for the summertime as its primary colors, complete with a bright red bow, contrast perfectly to create a beautiful, two-piece ensemble. In addition, the poison apple potion necklace is a wonderful tribute piece that honors this famous princess. Pair simple, black flats with this outfit and in no time you’ll be the fairest of them all.

 2. Cinderella 

Next is Cinderella, with a coordinated set that would be fantastic to wear to any party, fancy dinner or celebration. This dress is influenced by the gorgeous, blue gown Cinderella wore to the ball. Combine this with silver jewelry to help recreate the classic look. Additionally, a tall pair of silver heels mimics Cinderella’s iconic glass slippers. A pumpkin carriage necklace or any similar accessory will add to this look. This outfit can be worn during any time of the year, particularly for special occasions. An up-do is the best hairstyle, and including a silver flower headband completes this princess look.

3. Jasmine

Heat up the summer with this Jasmine-inspired outfit! Combining a sleeveless turquoise dress with gold jewelry will achieve this look. Thick gold jewelry is ideal, as Jasmine has similar gold earrings and necklace. Adding several bangles, a common accessory in the Middle East, also make this outfit pop. To keep this on point, pair matching flats to complement the dress. This look is super cute, fun and great to wear for any Arabian night.

4. Tiana

Straight from New Orleans is an outfit that commemorates one of Disney’s newer princesses, Princess Tiana. The colors in this two-piece set are bright, cheerful and natural, making it a wonderful spring and summer ensemble. The skirt and sweater are green and yellow to reflect the dress that Tiana wore in the movie. A green flat in the same or a complementary color work best, but a small heel could also work. As for accessories, frogs were a major theme in the movie, so a cute frog necklace against the yellow sweater is a great choice. Tiana spent most of the movie in the marshlands of the bayou, so a leafy or flowered headband also would be a stylish accessory. This outfit is simple yet elegant, and is guaranteed to be a winning look for any occasion.

5. Aurora

Last but certainly not least is one of Disney’s beloved princesses, Princess Aurora. This outfit combines both the royal and natural aspects of Aurora’s life, to create one beautiful look. A bright pink dress is just the right color for this Sleeping Beauty and is complemented by gold crown jewelry. In the movie, Aurora lived in the forest for the first sixteen years of her life, so adding a flower crown highlights her natural side. Bring your inner princess to life either during the day or on a warm summer night by wearing this outfit.
