Undeniably, one of the most camp fashion choices for the it girls of the 2000s was carrying their toy dogs in their handbags. The statement surpassed fictional characters such as Elle Woods’ Chihuahua sidekick, Bruiser; Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and even Rod Stewart have all been seen toting their furry friends in public.
Ignoring the ethical dilemma of using a living being as an accessory, and forcing it to remain in the air jail chamber of a handbag, VALLEY can’t help but fantasize the endless opportunities for pocket-size animals as accessories.
Snake

Cold and bold, a snake would elevate an intense outfit to the next level. Slithering up your arm, over your shoulder and down your back, this creature is an accessory that would have eyes following it up and down your body. Why not make the world your stage since Britney Spears was able to at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards?
Fish
Keep your outfit bubbling by bringing your aquatic friend along for the day’s excursions. Leave your phone and keys in your pockets and dedicate the glass Coperni Swipe bag to carrying your fish, so they can see the sights of a walk that only dogs appreciate. The light reflection is sure to catch the eyes of onlookers, but hopefully, you choose the aquarium for the day’s activity instead of a sushi dinner.
Chameleon

Color coordination can reach a new level when you have a chameleon to accompany your outfit. This reptile is perfect for when you need to keep your look varying throughout the night but don’t have time for a quick change. With their thin bodies, they can easily slip back into your handbag if they feel a need to hide away from the commotion.
Tarantula

When we mentioned toting furry friends around we were just talking about dogs, but why limit it to mammals? Tarantulas can add an extra shot of intensity to your outfit by giving many squeamish people the creepy-crawlies. This arachnid will have no problems hanging on to you due to its eight legs, so using the spider as an accessory would be easy for any owner.
Monkey

Finally, a monkey would be a great companion to bring to errands and events, and is definitely the most friendly choice from this list. Capuchin monkeys are a popular primate to own, and have been seen as devoted friends to humans from “Night at the Museum” (2006) to perched on Justin Bieber’s shoulder (before being seized by the German government in 2013). A monkey would be the best choice to get both a friend and an outfit accessory for the price of one.
While it might be difficult to register any of these as emotional support animals, that doesn’t stop them from having the potential to elevate an outfit like no one has seen before. VALLEY isn’t suggesting that anyone seriously consider toting around living things as objects, but it’s fun to dream, right?
