State College has lots of great food options downtown outside of the normal student eateries. Besides the usual downtown options like Yallah Taco, D. P. Dough, The Corner Room and other Penn State classics, there are lots of other places that every Penn Stater needs to try at one point or another. Pita Cabana Grill
Often overlooked by Chipotle lovers, Pita Cabana offers great Middle Eastern food. A lot of their food is similar to Chipotle with less of a line. They also offer tasty gyro sandwiches, shawarma platters and tacos. Not to mention, they make their own delicious salsa and queso.
Tokyo Sushi and Hibachi
This hidden gem is quite literally hidden from passersby. With delicious sushi at a very fair price, Tokyo offers a wide selection of Asian cuisine. They have hibachi dinner options, noodles, bento boxes and ramen, among a lot of other things. They’re also a pretty quick and reliable option for anyone who’s in a rush.
Noodles & Company
If you’re on the West side of campus, then you may be familiar with this eatery. But for people who live on the East side and don’t walk that far downtown, Noodles & Co. is a great option for pasta lovers. With lots of options to choose from, they have everything from pesto to Pad Thai. They also have some fun appetizers like pot stickers and garlic bread.

Who doesn’t love dinner and a show? At UR Pizza, you get to make your own pizza and watch them make it right in front of you. With unbeatable prices and a wide menu, UR Pizza is definitely worth the visit. They also offer rice bowls, pita pockets, falafel and french fries.

Located right in the centre of downtown on Locust Lane, Dosa Express has great Indian food for very affordable prices. With lots of classic Indian dishes like samosas, butter chicken and tikka masala, Dosa Express has a lot of options to choose from. They also have a wide array of vegetarian options, making it a great place for everyone to try.
