Taylor Swift is re-releasing her “Red” album on Friday, November 12.
If you didn’t know, Taylor Swift’s music was sold to Scooter Braun by her former record label, Big Machine Records. Since Swift believes she should own the rights to each of the albums, she decided to take matters into her own hands and re-record the albums many know and love.
After re-releasing her second album “Fearless” last April, fans are now gearing up to hear her fourth-studio album next.
“Red,” which originally came out in 2012, is one of Swift’s heartbreaking albums full of tragic love songs and painfully beautiful lyrics. Fans are now going to be able to enjoy a total of 30 songs, including many new songs “from the vault” that Swift wrote back in 2012 but never released.
In addition to this, Swift just recently announced that she is releasing a short film for “All Too Well,” starring Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink! The 10-minute version of this song, which Swifties have been obsessing over for years, will finally be unveiled.
Whether you’re a hard-core Taylor Swift fan or are just now getting into her music, VALLEY has got you covered on the proper way to welcome this new era of “Red.”
Bake chai tea cookies
Years ago, Taylor Swift shared a recipe of hers on Tumblr that is the perfect cozy treat to make in the fall and winter. She personalized a sugar cookie recipe to make them taste like chai with eggnog icing— aka, the perfect combination.
Listen to “Red” (while baking and eating the cookies!)
As you combine the sugar and flour together and watch the dough rise in the oven, listen to Taylor’s original release of the album! It is the perfect background soundtrack when you’re feeling all sorts of emotions and want to comfort yourself with a cookie.
Rank the songs and predict your favorites
As you’re listening to the songs, have your roommates or friends join you for a fun activity. You can rank your favorite songs off “Red” with this online tier maker and see how your opinions compare.
Since we are getting so many new songs off the re-release as well, you can also try to make predictions of what you think will be your favorite!
Do “22” activities
In honor of the song “22,” create a bucket list of a total of 22 fun activities to complete in preparation for the album. Since “Red” is an album closely related to the fall season, this could include anything from going on a walk outside to admire the fall foliage to visiting your local coffee shop for a hot drink.
Eat breakfast at midnight
“It feels like a perfect night, for breakfast at midnight.”
Going along with the “22” theme, it’s only appropriate that you eat pancakes and waffles at midnight while staying up to listen to the re-release.
While you’re at it, add some RED velvet donuts to your meal!
Wear themed clothes
Consider what you’ll wear while listening to “Red.”
From flannels to cozy sweaters, you can’t go wrong with a classic fall outfit.
You could also take inspiration from Swift’s album cover or music video. Wear this “Not A Lot Going On At The Moment” shirt with some heart-shaped sunglasses, or pair a black and white striped shirt with a pop of red to really get in the spirit of 2012 Taylor.
Take Polaroid photos
Nothing screams Taylor Swift more than a polaroid picture! If you don’t own one, you can still take photos on your phone and add a cool “vintage” effect to it.
