KENDALL+KYLIE is Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s clothing line, and it’s absolutely fabulous. On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, the Jenner girls had their very own pop-up shop at the Samsung 837 on Washington Street in New York City. This event was in celebration of the re-launch of their website and it went down in the midst of Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Week. Valley got the inside scoop on their party.
Not just anybody got an invite to the first half of this party. It was mostly VIP guests, friends, family and press. I was lucky enough to be interning for the week with a public relations firm in NYC, Linda Gaunt Communications, which represents the clothing line, so I got a pass to a party I’d never normally get the invite to.
Complete with a three-story screen playing their ads on loop, a digital galaxy featuring their famous Instagram accounts, a pop-up shop selling their line, and a 360 degree “selfie” booth, this party was out of this world.
The girls came looking chic as can be. Kendall was wearing head to toe black, complete with a black choker, bright red lipstick and slicked back hair. The blonde-for-now Kylie went for an edgier look with a striped pant and jacket set with the jacket unbuttoned and hanging off one of her shoulders to reveal her short white crop top.
Their clothing line is sophisticated, trendy and unique. One of their newest features is the Bambi key chain, inspired by Kylie’s dog Bambi.
The girls posed for tons of photos and answered questions with press. Their charisma was evident through all of their actions. Hundreds of camera flashes were going off and the girls just smiled with ease. After all, this kind of stuff is a daily occurrence for them. For anyone else, this would be extremely overwhelming, but with grace and confidence, the girls made their way down the line of press.
The Jenners had lots of support at the event. Kim Kardashian West, Jonathan Cheban and Tyga were all there for the girls. The clan checked out all the features of the party with a herd of photographers following them around.
Halfway through the party, the doors were opened to the public and the Kardashian-Jenner clan made a discreet exit, leaving the guests and public to admire their rad clothing and digital renditions of their lives.
With a galactic time in the books, I think it’s safe to say that the Jenners know how to throw one heck of a party.
