Let’s Bring Back DIY Facemasks

Did anyone here go through a phase in middle school where they religiously made at home face masks? These messy, goopy, questionably effective DIY projects were a coveted part of sleepovers. VALLEY is here to bring them back with some of our tried-and-true classics that can be made with household ingredients. It’s time for a spa night!

Firming & Brightening Egg White Mask
What You’ll Need
  • 1 egg
  • paper towel (optional)
What You’ll Do
  1. Separate the white from the egg yolk and whip until it begins to get frothy
  2. If using paper towel, rip into small pieces
  3. Apply the mask to your face
  4.  If using paper towel, stick the pieces all around your face until all of the egg white 
  5. Leave on for 15-20 minutes and rinse (If using paper towel, peel it off like a pore strip before you rinse)

Soothing and Moisturizing Honey and Oatmeal Mask 
What You’ll Need
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of finely ground oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon of yogurt (optional for extra moisture)
What You’ll Do
  1. Mix the honey and oatmeal in a bowl
  2. If using yogurt, add it to the mixture and combine well
  3. Apply the mask to your face, avoiding the eye area
  4. Leave it on for about 15-20 minutes
  5. Rinse off with warm water and pat your face dry

Brightening Turmeric and Yogurt Mask 
What You’ll Need
  • 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
What You’ll Do
  1. In a bowl, mix the turmeric and yogurt until smooth
  2. Add honey if you want additional moisture
  3. Apply the mask evenly to your face
  4. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes (it may stain, so be cautious)
  5. Rinse off with lukewarm water, scrubbing gently to remove any turmeric residue

VALLEY Tips:
  • Always do a patch test first on the back of your hand or the inside of your arm to check for allergies or sensitivities.
  • Use these masks once a week for best results.
  • Listen to what your skin needs! If you have a feeling these masks are not for you and will break you out, reach out to your dermatologist.
