The host that makes total sense for a New Year’s party is Miley Cyrus. Cyrus hosted a special event for the New Year’s Night of 2023, with co-host Dolly Parton, which was an exquisite night with unbelievable talent.
Ringing in the New Year with Great Performers
The stars that joined in this extravagant night were Latto, a rapper who performed her top hit “Big Energy”, this song was chosen by her because it set the mood for the new year with its incredible vibes. Later on, a surprising joint performance was done by FLETCHER and Cyrus singing “Midnight Sky.” The duo did a performance that shows true friendship and authenticity which was Cyrus’s aim for the night. She wanted to do an event that was relatable and authentic to make her fans happy and enjoy this memorable moment with her.
Then, the legendary rock and roll band, Lily, performed their top hits “Applause” and “Sabotage.” Further, hip hop’s latest artist Rae Sremmurd performing “Black Beatles” and other top hits. In this performance the artists express affirmations of positivity and gratitude for this upcoming year, making the audience feel very inspired to make their dreams and goals come true in this upcoming year.
Afterward, an iconic performance by Sia, Miley Cyrus and Paris Hilton singing “Stars are blind,” this trio has never been on stage together but all of them merged perfectly into the song and created an unforgettable experience for the audience. Sia also performed her song “Unstoppable” with David Byrne which was a spectacular moment where two different vocalists collide.
The Finale
Last but certainly not least we have a beautiful performance by Miley Cyrus and her “fairy godmother” Dolly Parton. While the public has seen these two artists work together before, reports mention that the duo has never performed better than at the NYE party. Parton and Cyrus decided to wear matching outfits in all of their performances which were very appealing to the public’s eye. They started with a country vibe by performing “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “Jolene” and “I Love Rock n’ Roll.” They wrapped up the night with a breathtaking performance where they began with one of Cyrus’s top hits “Wrecking Ball,” but Parton decided to give it a little twist and the performance ended up with the classic, “I will always love you”. We can’t forget to mention that this dazzling event couldn’t have come true without SNL’s talented director, Lorne Michaels.
