Looking for quali-tea boba in State College? Well you’re in luck! A new bubble tea shop, Möge Tee has just opened its doors right in the heart of downtown. Located at 214 E Calder Way, Möge Tee is serving all your boba needs. From drinks like “Taro Tofu Pudding” to “Oreo Milk Tea,” the shop is a great edition to the bubble tea family here in State College!
According to its website, Möge Tee was founded in mainland China in 2012. As of 2020, there are over 380 stores in mainland China, North America, Australia and Southeast Asia.
The Möge Tee USA Franchise has increased its presence in the United States since 2018. Currently, there are over 60 locations in operation, with another dozen under renovation and set to open by the end of 2022.
Möge Tee’s goal is to broaden the appeal of the Asian bubble tea phenomenon. They want their “New-Style Tea” to break down cultural barriers and change people’s perceptions of a beverage that has traditionally been consumed by the older generation.
When asked about the goals Möge Tee has for their new location, store owner Lee explains, “We want to introduce a healthier style of boba tea and try to get out culture out there and across State College.”
First off, What is Boba?
Boba is made from tapioca starch, also known as cassava starch, and is often referred to as “tapioca pearls.” They are small spheres that are simmered in brown sugar syrup to give them a sweet flavor and a dark black color. Boba has almost no flavor, making it easy to pair with a wide range of drinks.

Möge Tee offers a variety of speciality drinks ranging from fruit teas, milk teas, matcha, milk swirl teas, parfaits and soufflés. One of their most popular drinks is the “Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea.” It’s a classic milk tea with fresh brown sugar that’s cooked daily at the store!
How to Order
Möge Tee makes ordering easy! Instead of placing your order at the counter, the store offers a stand where you can place a computerized order. You will then receive an order number and it will be given to you at the main counter.
The store is nothing short of brand new and has lots of tables to sit. So, if you’re in need of sweet, refreshing bubble tea or a place to catch up with a friend, Möge Tee is the way to go!
