Nicholas Perry, better known as Nikocado Avocado on the internet, has become widely popular for his outrageous, large-scale mukbang videos. On Sept. 6, he shocked the entire world revealing his 250 pound weight loss in a YouTube video titled “Two Steps Ahead.”

Two Steps Ahead

Over the past two years, Perry has uploaded pre-recorded mukbang videos while working behind the scenes on his heath journey. In the cryptic video, Perry states, “Today, I woke up from a very long dream and I also woke up from having lost 250 pounds off of my body.” He described this journey as the greatest social experiment of his life.

Weightless Speculation

The video was sent out to his 4 million subscribers and currently has over 40 million views. It has sparked a number of reactions online. One twitter user @negan_wallst responded by saying, “This tale of Nikocado Avocado’s weight loss isn’t just about health or even entertainment; it’s a commentary on perception, reality, and the power of narrative. He played the long game, not for fame or fortune, but perhaps for the sheer spectacle of it all.”

Others have begun to speculate exactly how Perry has lost such a large amount of weight in the time span of 2 years.

Over the course of the last few years, Ozempic, a drug used to maintain diabetes, has become a popular source of controversy. Many famous celebrities have used Ozempic as a tool for weight loss and appetite suppressant. Amy Schumer, Elon Musk and Whoopi Goldberg have all opened up about their use and experience with the weight loss drug.

While some have praised both celebrities and non-celebrities alike for their stunning weight losses, many have criticized the use of the drug. Ozempic is suppose to be used for patients with diabetes, but instead is being bought by people not associated with diabetes but merely for a weight loss supplement. This ‘miracle-drug’ also comes with a slew of side effects such as nausea, vomiting and gallstones.
