Even though we do not want to admit it, the time is coming to say goodbye to another graduation class. Luckily, Valley is here to help you find gifts for your soon to be grad friends on a college budget so you can have one less thing to be sad about.
“I want to do something special for my sister. I want her to remember the best times of Penn State and do something personal,” says Rebecca Thomas. Thomas was on her way to 2000 degrees to make a custom plate.
We are following Rebecca’s example. If you want to get a graduation senior a gift, do something personal and make it Penn State. Highlight your best memories at the best school in the world.
If you do not want to spend a fortune on Penn State picture frame go to Wal-Mart, buy a plain frame, and decorate it. You can use blue and white puffy paint to make the frame pop. Simple gifts like these are easily transformed into your own memories.
“I am going to do a two-part gift. I am getting my best friend a picture from us my freshman year and then put it next to one from this year,” says Natalie Robins. “Then, I am going to send her a Penn State care package next year.”
Just because your friends are leaving Penn State, it does not mean that Penn State will leave them. If you are not sure what to get them before they leave, surprise them with a little taste of Penn State months after they leave. You can include a Penn State shirts (because you never can have too many) and an item from their favorite downtown place.
You do not have to break the bank to show your friends how proud you are of their accomplishments. Heartfelt gifts are more meaningful than anything else.
However, the best gift you can give your graduating friend is a place to crash whenever they want to visit you the following year(s).
