Want a chance to pie your favorite professor in the face? Now you have a chance!
With successful fundraising in the HUB last week, fundraising will continue this week from March 28-31 in Carnegie Lobby from 11am-2pm. People can donate $3 for a chance to be the one who pies the professor on April 5, and the donation minimum is $1 to vote for a professor to get pied.
The top three professors with the most money get pied on April 5 at 5pm in front of Carnegie, and all proceeds benefit Centre County United Way and College of Communications Student Council. Centre County United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in Centre County.
The faculty members and professors that were nominated are Curt Chandler, Steve Manuel, Bob Martin, John Affleck, Matt Swayne and Jamey Perry.
“I’m not so sure I’m happy about the prize in this contest, but as the sports guy I’m always into beating out my friends,” John Affleck says. “Whatever happens, the good news is we’re raising money for the United Way and the college’s student council — so I’m hoping we can bring in a few bucks.”
The student council landed on United Way as many of the college’s faculty members are active in the organization. After many long hours of planning, this event is shaping up to something that everyone in the college is looking forward to.
“I think it can be a successful event that is capable of putting our club on the front lines of our college,” Marty Kassalen, the Student Council Events Chair, says. “I’m excited about the outcome and I think everyone involved will feel rewarded in some way in the end.”
Come outside the Carnegie building at 5pm on April 5th to watch some professors get pied.
