The holiday season is finally upon us and VALLEY is all here for it. But, holiday cheer can quickly turn into stress when it comes to shopping for presents. Luckily, Pop Up Ave, State College’s urban-style flea market, is back just in time for you to snag some gifts for your family and friends.
On Saturday Dec. 9, the Pop Up Ave Holiday Market will take over Fraser Street between College and Beaver Avenues from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. With vendors setting up shop inside The Makery, there will be a large number of artists, crafters and vintage sellers.
While this is the first flea market in December, Pop Up Ave has been a State College staple since 2016. Founded by Brad and Andrea Groznik, Pop Up Ave brought about 3,000 students and residents to the market last September.
Groznik, who went to high school in Germany, says “Bundling up and strolling through the winter markets in Germany is something I looked forward to every year. I’d love to create an experience like that in State College and hosting a Pop Up Ave holiday market is a first step.”
Musicians like Hops and Vines, DJ Zach Kelly and The Psychic Beat One Man Band will take the stage on the MLK Plaza throughout the day and vendors ranging from Rothrock Coffee to Doan’s Bones Barbecue will provide food and drink.

So take a break from finals and do a fun holiday shop—VALLEY knows you want to!
