We’re returning with the new buzzword of the week, taking over the mental health space. A monitoring spirit known within the Christian community has now translated to the mental health arena. But what is a monitoring spirit, and why does this phenomenon keep going viral on social media?

What is a MS?

A monitoring spirit can be called to you supposedly in many different ways or forms. However, this is becoming so misconstrued in today’s society.

Through Christian definition, the monitoring spirit stems from the Christian principle where spiritual beings manifest themselves within the human realm.

According to Ibelieve.com, “Their main goal is to gather information, take notes, and report back to the forces of darkness, seeking any vulnerability they can exploit in our lives. It’s like they’re running some kind of spiritual surveillance mission.”

But somehow this has translated into today’s general POV? According to the average Tiktoker, a monitoring spirit person is that pester in your TikTok’s views, people who don’t speak to you genuinely or even that nosy neighbor that only wants to know your business.

The root of this issue is that a lot of the general public refuses to understand that the world does not revolve around them. Buzzwords continue ruling our social scene, hurling our discourse into the stratosphere while people do not understand human interaction.

Yes, people are nosy and fake. Yes they might even come into your life with bad intentions but that doesn’t mean that you have to believe every person has ill intent towards you. For now the peace you maintain within yourself stems from the people you surround yourself with.
