Susan G. Komen and Manduka are coming together for Project: OM, the world’s largest yoga class on May 12 to 14, 2017. One million yoginis will get the chance to participate in a world-wide event that stands up to something bigger than themselves.
According to Project: OM, over 250,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year in the United States alone, and over 40,000 of those men and women will die each year. But over 37 million people are practicing yoga every year in the U.S., and over 80 million will test out yoga for the first time.
Susan G. Komen has invested over $2.9 billion up to date for research and projects that aim to save the lives of those battling breast cancer. They are on the mission to reduce the number of lives taken by breast cancer by 50 percent by the year 2026.
Manduka is a world renown and respected yoga brand. They create and manufacture innovative yoga mats, towels, props and apparel that provide over two million customers with the tools they need for their practice and relaxation.
Together, these two phenomenal brands are going to use their powers for good, and create a world-wide yoga class that spreads awareness and fights to put an end to breast cancer. With studios and instructors in cities around the globe participating in this movement, Susan G. Komen and Manduka have made this event accessible to everyone in the world! Even if you have never practiced yoga before, the Project: OM website provides tutorials and yoga-teaching videos to get you ready for the big day.
