It happens to all of us. We’re curled up under our covers – warm, cozy and dreaming sweetly. And then you hear it. At first it’s distant and then it becomes clearer – the blaring beep of your dreaded alarm clock. You hit the snooze button for an extra 10 minutes, and then 30 minutes later, you’re hurrying to make it to class on time.
Why is it so difficult to get out of bed in the morning? For some of us, it’s a struggle that can even cost us good grades and class attendance points. To prevent these negative results of oversleeping, Valley has some tips to help get readers out of bed, motivated and ready to take on the day!
Deliberately place your alarm clock far away – When you’re alarm is placed right next to your bed, it’s easy to just hit the snooze button and go back to sleep. However, if you place your alarm clock somewhere across the room so that you have to get out of bed to turn it off, you’re already one step in the right direction!
Stretch It Out – When you’re alarm goes off in the morning, immediately take a second to stretch out your muscles. Pull your arms back while stretching the opposite way with your legs. Not only will this feel good, but it will get the blood flowing in your body and help to wake you up.
Wash Your Face – Get out of bed and wash your face right away. Splashing some cold water on your face will wake you up very quickly. Also, try using a cooling face wash that makes your face tingle. Some suggestions are Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser or Clean & Clear Morning Burst. They’ll give you a fresh, clean and awake feeling! Next time you find yourself struggling to get out of bed, try our suggestions and start your day off productive and proactive.
