Oct. 11 has come and past and we are well on our way into season two of Riverdale! Things are different this season as we pick up after the shooting of Mr. Andrews in Pop’s. The real question is: what can you expect from this new season?
Before getting into specifics, let’s talk about how the show came to be. The series of Riverdale, in case you didn’t know, is an adaptation based on characters from the Archie Comics. It stars KJ Apa as Archie and continues its all-star cast by throwing in Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones. No matter if you are team Betty or Veronica, you can find something to love about both of these male leads.
**CAUTION SPOILERS**
Now let’s talk about the good stuff. With two episodes already out, there is a lot to discuss. Don’t panic, Mr. Andrews makes it through the first episodes, but it seems no one is safe as in a neighboring town Archie’s old music teacher is strangled in her home. While a murderer runs free, Pop’s is close to shutting down after the shooting that took place and Betty is determined to save it as they couldn’t save the drive-in in season one.
Now with some of the details gone over, there are some fan predictions for what’s to come. Some fans are focused on Polly—what happens when she has her baby? Although this character has yet to be seen Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told TVLine, “that is absolutely not something that will happen off-screen.”
Another shocking event is that Veronica’s dad, Hiram Lodge, has returned to the family. As fans, we see the tension in this family and can’t help but to think why does the mom stay with him when she so clearly has feelings for Mr. Andrews. At the same time, fans theorize that it was indeed Hiram that had Mr. Andrews shot in the season one finale because he refused to sign over his construction company.
The theories swirl around and around, keeping fans on their toes for the next episode. There is even a hint that Sabrina the teenage witch will make an appearance this season as well as get her own show. Make sure you don’t miss a single second of this enticing show. New episodes air on the CW every Wednesday night at 8 p.m.! Happy watching!
