Skincare in the Air

After a long day of traveling, we tend to feel the effects on our skin and hair. As the plane lands or we’ve reached our destination, a hot shower instantly comes to mind to wash off the travel air. Although a refreshing shower is enticing, a few products that carry travel sizes can enhance our look before we even arrive.

The Big Three

Cleanser, moisturizer and serum are the three essentials when traveling. Especially on airplanes, the humidity is controlled between 10-20% and our skin’s comfort zone lies around 50%. Less humidity, less moisture for the skin. Your go-to moisturizer is a proper solution to dry air.

Our skincare routine does not have to take a pause when traveling! Recreate your routine with travel-sized bottles that can be applied to your skin mid-flight. By the time you reach the final destination, you’ll feel more ready than ever! Origins offers six travel skincare tips alongside recommendations of their products to achieve soft, glowy skin while traveling!

Extra Enhancements

Face masks, rollers, pimple patches, oh my! VALLEY recommends adding a few more products to the big three for that extra oomph. We’ve come across videos on social media of individuals opening up a face mask or rods to create the perfect blowout by the end of the traveling day.

Patchology offers a travel kit that includes a face mask, two types of eye gels and a lip mask. It is the total package to prevent skin tightness or dryness on a long or short-duration flight. The overnight blowout can be achieved from the window seat without much effort!

The satin rods can be found online or in-store for a fair price and won’t set off the TSA detectors. A mid-flight pick-me-up consisting of rollers and bonnet will have you strutting on the (airplane) runway!

On the red eye? No problem! Many skincare brands like Laneige, Versed Skin and Youth to the People offer moisturizers and masks for overnight wear.

Look Good, Feel Good

VALLEY gets it. Traveling sucks the life (and moisture) out of us to the point where we desperately long for the hot shower to rinse off the germs. Packing some smaller and extra products that we can rub in and settle can change the aesthetic of our airplane ride with turbulence, into a spa session with a massage chair! By the end of our trip, we will feel our best and be able to take on the night’s adventures!
