Temu has become the most downloaded app across downloading platforms for the last two months. The viral online shopping company has taken the internet by storm for its large variety and affordable prices. But what exactly is this new online sensation, and is it legitimate?
What Temu Offers
If you’re looking for a new top, a portable charger, stylish shoes or even a vacuum, Temu seems to have it all. The website is filled with thousands of products of virtually any category for whatever needs customers may have. Not only does the website seem to offer anything and everything, but it also offers them at ridiculously affordable prices. You can pick up a men’s winter coat for as low as $11.89 or a flashlight for $6.19. Free shipping is also available on every order.
Free Merchandise?
Part of Temu’s major appeal and what has skyrocketed the retailer’s newfound popularity is the feature to receive free products by getting others to sign up on the app as well. The more signups you can collect, the more credit you earn to use on Temu’s website for whatever retail items you desire. The company is gaining free publicity by having its users promote the app via social media as well as friends and family.
Temu at the Super Bowl
Temu’s publicity has only continued growing since the company aired multiple seven-million-dollar ads during this year’s Super Bowl. This had people all over social media discussing how Temu was able to have enough revenue to air during one of the most expensive ad slots in media. Their ads also came as a surprise to people for the way the company’s name is pronounced. Many were referring to it as “tee-mo,” but the advertisements revealed that the brand is actually called “te-moo.”
To Buy or Not to Buy?
In theory, the concept of Temu seems genius, but the company has received a slew of bad reviews since its start-up. Customers have reported missing orders never getting delivered, wrong packages and inability to contact customer service to resolve their issues. Temu currently does not have accreditation from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), deciding to purchase at one’s own risk. Others have reported nothing but good things regarding their experiences with the company. Product quality has also varied across user reviews. To say that Temu is a complete scam might be an overstatement, but by choosing to order, you may not receive your desired outcome.
