Songs Every Penn State Student Should Know

There’s nothing like standing in the student section at a football game and waving your pom-poms to every song that blasts from the stadium speakers or that vibrates the stands from the Blue Band stomping their feet. Music is essential to Penn State culture. We’ve all shamelessly screamed the lyrics to “Sweet Caroline” and danced to “We Dem Boyz” no matter how many times they’ve been played. Take a look at the soundtrack to our lives at Penn State.

1. “Sweet Caroline” – Neil Diamond

Played at every football game and just about every single Penn State related event because it’s “SO GOOD! SO GOOD! SO GOOD!”

2. “We Dem Boyz” – Wiz Khalifa

Hold up. This song is seriously everywhere and has somehow found its way onto every football game playlist. You can also hear this blasting from Cedarbook on frequent occasion.

3. “Seven Nation Army” – The White Stripes

The ultimate pom-pom waving song.

4. “Livin’ on a Prayer” – Bon Jovi

You’re halfway there to a strained vocal chord from screaming these lyrics so often.

5. “All Night Longer” – Sam Adams

This song represents a night out at Penn State and can be heard at any party and after party.

6. “Wagon Wheel” – Darius Rucker

This song is a crowd pleaser no matter where you are. It also makes every human being a country music fan for at least 30 seconds in the chorus.

7. “Hey Baby” – Bruce Channel

Blue band nails this song every time.

8. “Trap Queen” – Fetty Wap

~1738~

So whether you rather scream in arguments with the Willard Preacher than scream the same chorus one more time, or if you shamelessly lead the party in song, Penn State’s music makes every situation more spirited and brings us all together. At least for 3 minutes.
