Tucked away at 228 W. College Ave., Little Szechuan is a Chinese restaurant with indoor dining and takeout options. Their menu presents an abundance of variety, including vegetarian and vegan options. Little Szechuan’s menu offers beef, poultry, seafood, soup, rice, lo mein, appetizers, steamed “Dieter’s Special” options for a lighter take and more. Their online ordering system allows the customer to plan their dinner in advance. Whether you live on or off campus, Little Szechuan is an accessible and delicious option for dinner.
Yummy Cafe
Similar to Little Szechuan, Yummy Cafe at 320 E. Calder Way advertises serving Szechuan-style food. According to Szechuan House-Lutherville, “Szechuan cuisine, Sichuan cuisine, or Szechwan cuisine is a style of Chinese cuisine originating from Sichuan province in southwestern China. It has bold flavors, particularly the pungency and spiciness resulting from liberal use of garlic and chili peppers, as well as the unique flavor of the Sichuan pepper.” Yummy Cafe also shows a large menu with a variety of traditional dishes, and Uber Eats and DoorDash makes Yummy Cafe accessible to those who may not live within a walkable distance.
Uncle Chen’s
At 430 E. Calder Way, Uncle Chen’s Chinese Restaurant offers a series of specials and deals to make Chinese cuisine more affordable for patrons. Their menu includes a daily special, lunch special, combo special and a dinner for two at $22.95 special. They also advertise a special menu of “Chinese Students’ Favorites.” Uncle Chen’s is open until 11 p.m., making it a great option for night owls craving Chinese cuisine or a late-night study session dinner. Uncle Chen’s has traditional dishes, vegetarian and vegan options, milk tea, smoothies, health-conscious options and more.
