TBT: Top 10 Disney Channel Original Movies

These were the movies we watched at every sleepover and birthday party. They are the movies we will force our children to watch. We all miss the glory days of made-for-television feature films. Here is our list of the top 10 Disney Channel Original Movies:

10. Zenon: Girl of the 21^st Century

Zedis Lapedis! Now that we actually are in the 21^st century, its funny to look back on this movie and see how unrealistic it was. We may not be as advanced as we were portrayed to be, but at  least we don’t actually wear those silver jump suits.

9. Get A Clue

Get A Clue aired back when Lindsay Lohan was still a functioning member of society. The mysterious storyline was actually pretty interesting and Brenda Song annoyed us just a little less than she did in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

8. Cadet Kelly

Seeing Hillary Duff in an army suit throwing around rifles was only slightly terrifying. Her face-off with Wren from Even Stevens involved a lot of hand motions (that we all secretly tried to learn), but their duel ended in a best-friendship.

7. Double Teamed

Double Teamed was actually based off of the real lives of basketball players Heidi and Heather Burge. It was pretty cool to see the two girls absolutely dominate the sport.

6. Gotta Kick It Up

Si Se Puede! Gotta Kick It Up was the original Bring It On, with less annoying cheerleaders. Their upbeat dance moves and sassy personalities made for a really fun movie.

5. Now You See It

This magical movie was actually really entertaining and pretty scary. Aly Michalka starred in Now You See It, making it just that much better. We love you, Aly.

4. Smart House

Smart House was easily the coolest Disney Channel Original Movie… ever. The computerized home was awesome, before it went crazy. Imagine throwing a party and then having your house clean up for you. What could be better than that?

3. The Even Stevens Movie

Put Shia Labeouf and that weird kid named Beans together and what do you get? A weirdly hilarious movie about a family getting scammed on an island. We never really understood the whole plot of the movie, but we loved it regardless.

2. High School Musical

HSM was one of the Disney Channel Original Movies that actually became really famous. It jump started Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens’ careers and brief relationship (which we were all sad to see end). RIP Zanessa.

1. Halloweentown

Halloweentown was like the Disney Channel version of Harry Potter. It created such a different, strange world that enchanted all of us. The sequels are just as good as the original, and they still manage to make October feel slightly more magical.
