Our lives are a constant revolving door consistently having ups and downs. The blips of joy we feel in every breath taken and every move made is intentional. In this season of endings whether it’s you leaving Penn State or going into your senior year, here’s some advice where you might not be fully present in this moment.
Saudade
In the season of saudade, we have to become more mindful of the way we are present during times of celebration while feeling different. Whether you’re dealing with depression or just taking time away from your environment, the changes placed within our lives
But this doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to feel the aches and pain and wanting to be alone or being forced to be alone. Everything affects our lives forcing us to move into a place of accountability. Between the fear of rejection, growing up once we leave this place or even being left out of social functions… everything matters to you.
Where your motivation lies
Our steadfast hearts remain for the things in front of us now. The separation between you and that goal might be strong but it’s still there. Being away from the people you love to take care of yourself for your peace of mind might be needed in this season. People’s expectations vs reality for you are not needed during this time.
Protecting your peace from people might also be the key way to get your mind right during this time. People assume where you are and talk about the reasons why you’re gone could be personal but it’s you doing you. Motivation is constantly moving as we get older but the more we start to prioritize what is important to us, our lives start to improve.
Transitioning back
Being away from people is a choice you must actively make during separation from busy seasons.
How will start to implement the growth you’ve had in yourself and create a new change for your old “life”? Will you start to recognize the patterns and signs needed for you to take from people?
