You are on the way back to your house, when all of a sudden you feel a sudden pain in your heart. You try to ignore it but the pain gets worse and eventually it gets to the point where you can no longer take it. You hop in your car and drive off into the sun, scared that in your last moments, you would die without seeing any of the things that you wanted to.
Now this story may not seem practical, or rather not the reality you would want to live, but unfortunately it was very real for one living thing on this Earth. This was the anglerfish.

The Meaningful Meme
A video of an anglerfish has recently gone viral because of its incredibly unusual and rather tragic potential backstory. Anglerfish are one of the few known deep sea creatures, so the clip of one finding its way to the surface of the water, guiding itself only by the sunlight, was extremely shocking for many.
Many have speculated if the fish spent its final moments attempting to see what it’s never had seen before and have started to create narratives for his lifetime. Poems and tragic tales have been crafted. Though many have been made in a dramatic and humorous take, it’s also a learning lesson for many of us. We can see ourselves in the anglerfish as well.

Deep-Sea Adventures
We are so comfortable with our current state of life, in our own little bubbles, that we can’t even comprehend the possibilities of what we’re capable of. We wake up, go to classes and work and bed rot for the rest of the night until we remember about our homework. We like going out with our friends on the weekends and the occasional date here or there. But have you ever considered that with each passing day, we become less and less motivated to do things that we never had the courage of doing?
Living just for the next day becomes boring. We, as humans, are meant to live for the purpose of living. Re-framing your mentality to one that chooses to make new decisions every day would correct your lifestyle into something more self-fulfilling. It may feel tiring sometimes to live every day like it’s your last, but think about it as treating yourself consistently.
We’re so hard on ourselves to perform for others that we forget to live for ourselves as well. VALLEY thinks that we all deserve to explore the unknown before we’re wishing that we did. So go take that skydiving lesson or book a spontaneous trip to Australia! We want you to swim out of your usual deep-sea waters and find that sunlight.
