The Class of 2020 Soundtrack: Chart-Toppers from the Past Four Years

VALLEY would like to congratulate Penn State’s class of 2020 on their albeit unconventional graduation. We wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors and we thank you for the mark you have made on Penn State history!

2016

Did you know that “One Dance” was Drake’s first #1 single on the Billboard charts?

The song “Panda” was inspired by the white BMW X6, in the song, Desiigner states “White X6 look like a panda.”

2017

Did you know that Ed Sheeran went on to win a Grammy Best Pop Solo Performance in 2018 for “Shape of You”? The song also set a Billboard record by spending 33 weeks in the top ten charts!

Kendrick Lamar’s album “DAMN.” won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music and Best Rap Album at the 2018 Grammys.

2018

Did you know that “Rockstar” by Post Malone broke the Apple Music record for the most streams in a single week? It had 25 million+ streams.

Juice WRLD actually lost a lawsuit (and therefore, most of the royalties) over the song “Lucid Dreams” to Sting. Sting allegedly claimed the song was “a beautiful interpretation” of his own song, “Shape of my Heart.”

2019

Did you know that Lil Nas X says (on country music) “I have a few country songs. I’m not going to lie and say I’m this huge country fan, but I respect the genre, because I respect every genre of music.”

“Sunflower” was Posty and Swae Lee’s second collab!
