Former “Impractical Joker” star, Joe Gatto, has allegedly been accused of sexual assault. Since the allegations, he has canceled his tour and is taking time for himself.
The allegations started on March 20, which was when a girl on TikTok came out stating that Gatto had sexually assaulted her. Since then, another woman has also shared that the same thing happened to her while working on the set of “Impractical Jokers.”
Before The Allegations
Gatto starred on the show “Impractical Jokers” from 2011 to 2021. A lot of fans were questioning why Gatto wanted to leave the show. Gatto made a post about deciding to leave the show because he was going through a separation from his wife, Bessy Gatto, and because he wanted to be with his family and take care of his kids.
The Viral TikTok
On March 20, 2025, a TikToker who goes by the username @joozyb, posted a video of talking about being sexually assaulted by Gatto in September 2023. That video got taken down, but she posted another video explaining what happened.
She had just turned 19 and her first encounter with Gatto happened while she was eating brunch with her family. She recognized the “Impractical Jokers” star and asked for a picture. Gatto ended up inviting her and her sister to his comedy event that night, but her sister was busy and she did not have anyone to go with.
She ended up changing her mind and messaged Gatto on Instagram saying that she would try to go to his show. Gattos responded and told her that there will be two free meet and greet passes in her name when she gets to the show. She ended up going to the show by herself and taking some pictures with Gatto after the show.
When she got back to her place, she was drinking and her roommate half-convinced her to keep texting him. He eventually turned on vanish mode on their messages and gave her instructions on how to get to his hotel room.
She then ubered to the hotel and she said that somebody had led her to the elevator and that someone was also in the elevator with her. She stated that “some stuff happened, but I don’t want to go into the details of everything.”
While this was happening, this was also the time when Gatto was rekindling with his wife after their separation.
An Employee Allegation
After the first allegation had come out, a few days later, a women who had worked on the “Impractical Jokers” on set, reportedly said that Gatto would be inappropriate and sometimes handsy and flirty. Other employees that had also worked on “Impractical Jokers” allegedly warned her about Gatto.
Gatto’s Response
After all of the allegations and all of the TikTok videos talking about the allegations, Gatto gave a response. “I have used poor judgment and as a result have violated the trust of the people I love most, but anyone who knows me at all knows full well that I wouldn’t assault anyone. Working on myself is an ongoing process, and I am now going to take some time away from the public eye to focus my energies where I need to,” said Gatto.
