The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction has been getting quite a lot of attention lately, as Instagram accounts like @LawofAttractionLive have grown in popularity this summer.

The Law of Attraction can seem like a confusing concept, but simply put, it is “the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on,” according to the official website. To many, this might seem like a hoax. To others, it could be what they’ve always been searching for.

The basic concept of the Law of Attraction is that what you put out into the world, is what you get back. Commonly used techniques to assist with manifesting your dreams and goals include dream boards, daily affirmations, gratitude journals and more. All of these methods can allow those practicing the Law to achieve what they never imagined could be true.

This practice can seem somewhat daunting and hard to begin, since it heavily relies on self-reflection and turning in toward yourself to examine what you want out of your life. Luckily, VALLEY is here to break down how to use the Law of Attraction to your advantage to better yourself and your life.

First off, it’s important to define manifestation. Manifestation is what happens when you effectively use the Law of Attraction to turn your dreams into reality. According to the official site, thelawofattraction.com, “manifestation is something that is put into your physical reality through thought, feelings and beliefs.” As previously mentioned, manifestation can be practiced in many ways and it is up to each individual to decide which method works best for them.

Manifestation doesn’t just happen, though. In order to see your manifestation through, there are five steps you should follow.

  1. Choose what you want to manifest. Ask yourself, “Do I really want this? How will this benefit me? How will this benefit others?”
  2. Get rid of anything standing in your way. Crush your negative mindset, eliminate toxic people and be patient — manifestation can be all about timing.
  3. Visualize what you want to manifest. There are many different ways to visualize what you want to become your reality, and we’ll highlight some of them below.
  4. Take action. Recognize your goal and go with your intuition. If something feels right, go with it! A gut feeling could be the first step in bringing your manifestation to life.
  5. Recognize and appreciate what you have once you receive your wishes. The more you actively acknowledge and appreciate what you’ve manifested, the easier it will be to manifest again in the future.

Ready to start using the Law of Attraction to manifest your best life? Try out one of these five manifestation techniques!

Dream/Vision Boards

Dream boards, AKA vision boards, are a way to visually represent what you’re aiming to manifest. Creating a dream board is an easy task and can help you determine exactly what it is you’re looking for. Clipping out magazine snippets or gathering natural materials on a nature walk are two great ways to get materials for your board. Dream/vision boards are a physical manifestation of your goals and wishes and can be motivating to look at on a daily basis.

Daily Affirmations

Affirmations are the simplest way to help manifest your goals. They’re quick, easy and can be incorporated into your everyday routine. An affirmation is “a simple statement that reshapes your beliefs and helps you move towards your life goals,” according to the Law of Attraction site. The most important aspect of affirmations is that they are positive and consistent. Whether you choose to practice spoken affirmations or leave notes of affirmation on sticky notes is up to you, as long as you keep them positive and goal-oriented.

Gratitude Journals

A gratitude journal is exactly what it seems — it’s a journal where you write down everything you are grateful for. It is best to do this everyday, and to include around 5-10 things you were grateful for during that day. This process allows you to end your day in a positive mindset and reflect on the best things in your life. By reflecting on the positive aspects of your present, you are able to train your mind to expect more positivity in the future.

Meditation

Meditation may seem like something only yogis partake in, but it’s really a quite simple way to actively envision your manifestations. Becoming introspective and fully present in the moment allows you to focus more closely on your goals. While meditating you can take the time to create a positive space in which to visualize your goals.

Speaking Your Truth into Existence

Speaking your truth into existence is very similar to positive affirmations, but a key difference is sharing these truths with other people. It’s important to speak with optimism and enthusiasm and to watch the way you word things. Rather than focusing on the negative, flip things around and focus on the positive. Speaking your dreams and truth into existence by simply throwing them out there to people who you trust is a great manifestation technique.
