“Don’t you ever, in your life, dim your light for nobody,” Tyler The Creator once said. As humans, we tend to conform to a negative outlook on life when it doesn’t seem to be going our way. From getting a speeding ticket on the way to work, fighting with a friend or believing you’re receiving karma for something you have done in your past.
It’s important to always remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The universe is fair, but it just has poor timing. When life comes with hardships, struggles and challenges, it may seem that your life is testing whether or not you can overcome these obstacles. However, this is how the laws of Yin & Yang join forces to present reasons to why you may feel life is going against you when in reality, it is going with you.
What is Yin and Yang?
The yin and yang symbol, also known as the taijitu, represents the balance between two opposing forces and the idea that all things in the universe are made up of inseparable opposites. Yin and yang are depicted as the light and dark halves of a circle. With a dark and light side joining forces in the circle, the yin and yang can come to show a visual of the balance and harmony in the universe.
The dark side of the symbol, the yin, can come to present the painful moments occurring in your life that you may currently be experiencing. But, here at VALLEY we promise that you will make it out. Which comes to portray the yang, the light side, showing us how light will eventually shine through tough times whether we come to believe it or not.
When the yin is the strongest, there is a yang that will portray and uphold the beauty to success. Coming back to the concept of time, it can be perceived to be unpredictable as we cannot see what the future has in store. But if you are patient in these dark moments where you believe nothing is going your way, your yang will show up exactly when you need it most.
From receiving a promotion at your new job, acing an exam that you studied far too in advance for or overall receiving a positive outcome from something you put your heart and soul into, gratitude sits under the hubris that’s on your sleeve. Celebrating these accomplishments after you were on the brink of concluding that life was working against rather than with you is a huge step in testifying and proving that you are stronger than you think.
Where You Can See It
The laws of Yin & Yang only come out of the shadows to work in your favor when you ask yourself this question: “What do I have to do to change for myself?” If you currently struggle or are confused about what you want for yourself, that is totally ok. Adolescence is a science experiment, waiting to show us what we have been looking for to implement into our lives as soon as possible.
As each and every one of us is distinct, we cannot begin to compare our lives to others when we start to believe that the world is against us. You are going to see what you want once you eliminate the mental barrier preventing you from achieving your goals. Making enough money to buy your own place out of college, learning a new skill to transform into a hobby or wanting to be in a romantic relationship all comes with the hard work and determination you must be willing to put in to see change.
It Starts With You
Everything you have ever wanted is already inside of you. Can you feel the light inside? Can you feel the fire? What is the fuel you need and are using to power your mind and achieve your goals? It could be as simple as doing activities for yourself, such as going to the gym every day to obtain that dream physique or working more hours at work to receive a bigger paycheck by the end of the week.
No matter the case, always remember that diamonds take time to form, which means having to cut down your ego. The more discomfort we experience now, the more value you will bring to your life. Your attitude, dreams, ambitions and plan for the future all come down to discovering your “why” and “how”, when life feels like yin keep in mind there is always yang leading you down the right path.
