“What’s the vibe?” “I don’t know what song to play.” These are popular responses that flood through what is supposed to be a “bump sesh,” ultimately destroying the vibe until someone finally thinks of a song to revive the mood.
If you are in dire need of a fresh playlist to instantly get you into those summer feels — day dreaming about sunkissed bronze skin and barbecuing — you’ve come to the right place. We’ve assembled a soundtrack filled with 130+ songs to ensure you and your friends are keeping that summer vision alive in 2019.
Summer Aux Playlist
This curated playlist is super eclectic in its song selection. With latin-infused hits, bubble-gum throwback pop, revivals of some of our younger crushes (Jonas Brothers) and chill, vibrant, festival-type beats. 2019 thus far has been a musical year of unanticipated surprises with cross-collaborations such as Lil Nas and Billy Ray, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber, Kelsea Ballerini and the Chainsmokers, etc. This genre mixing has generated both a balanced cadence and appreciation for all music types in 2019. We’ve placed an emphasis of this in our playlist.
Some female artists have also taken control of both the billboards and our playlist. Ariana Grande has become a pop staple this year. The release of both of her albums have fostered senses of empowerment through her self-love anthems you can’t help but scream. Young Billie Eilish has also artistically produced tracks unseen before through her unique visionary lens that has become an awe to the public. Scary at times, but absolutely genius.
This playlist also highlights and compares some artists younger musical selves and their now. MARINA is back this summer 2019 to kick off her revival. Her new song “Orange Trees” is a track guaranteed to bring you a blissful and carefree ambiance. If your looking to hear her evolution, be sure to listen to “How to be a Heartbreaker,” too. Others to note: Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.
Of course, no playlist is complete without taking it back a few years. The most beautiful and hype thing about music is how timeless it can be — songs from 2006 still make us want to get up and dance. Relive your middle school days with some Shakira-swinging “Hips Don’t Lie,” some colorful Cyndi Lauper “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” some sassy Gwen Stefani “Sweet Escape” and more.
From bump sessions to beach days to pre-game playlist or maybe even a dance in the mirror all by yourself with a hairbrush — you name that type of playlist — VALLEY’s got you this summer. Go on, plug it in.
