Thanksgiving break is right around the corner VALLEY readers. For a lot of us that means home cooked meals, rotting in bed and reunions! Now we’re not just talking about family here, we also mean seeing one of the most important people in your life: your hairdresser. As we get closer and closer to the end of November, roots are growing out and ends are splitting. Hometown hairdressers are a college girl’s hero.
Having appointments so far and few between means when you sit in that chair, you’re making big changes – cutting off dead ends, all over highlights or maybe a whole new hairstyle. Whatever you pick, you walk out of the salon with a whole new look and attitude! So, the big question this fall: what is the ‘it’ hairstyle for the season?
Celeb Inspo
We’ve seen everything from copper cowgirl to espresso martini brown, but to figure out what color is trending, look no further than the celeb trendsetters we know and love.
Kendall Jenner revealed her old-money blonde earlier this month and we are obsessed. Although the go-to for blondes has typically been ‘icy white,’ Jenner switched it up and offered a warm yellow alternative for the cooler months.
Another notable brunette-turned-blondie is Addison Rae. The singer and style icon swapped her caramel brown hair for an old-money vibe very similar the Jenner’s. Both have been seen rocking their new hairstyles on the New York Fashion Week’s red carpet, playing up the vibe with bouncy cascading curls.
Beyond Blonde
Although it may not be a big deal for a celebrity to make the bold switch, for many, changing up your hair color can be both empowering and scary all at the same time! Hair can be everything to a person, it’s what makes them them. Leaving the salon chair with an entirely new look might make you question who even am I?
Maybe switching it up can be a representation of a self-transformation. You are not the old you anymore and you want the outside to reflect the inside. Or maybe, it’s the first step in your new journey, making such a bold change is just the push you need to change other things in your life.
No matter the reason, putting your hair future into the hands of somebody else can always be scary, and most of the time leads to you rushing home to restyle the new hairdo. Getting use to the change takes time, but it might just be the thing you need to put your best foot forward for the next chapter of your life.
