They’re back and better than ever! A few weeks ago, Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas announced their return as a band with a brand new Instagram account, dropping the cover for their new single “Sucker” and making a video with James Corden, host of “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
If you’re too young to remember the vital role the Jonas Brothers played in this generation’s childhood, then we suggest you go back and relive their highlights from their OG time as a band.
“Camp Rock” and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” are where the Jonas Brothers became a name in the lives of millions of Disney Channel movie watchers. With Joe in the lead role as Shane Gray, alongside Demi Lovato, the three brothers recorded songs for the movie that are still talked about today, such as “Play My Music” in “Camp Rock” and “Introducing Me,” in “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.”
Due to the band’s success in the movie as well as their growing fan base from their albums, the band then received a show on Disney Channel called “Jonas” that ran for two seasons.
Once the Jonas Brothers became such a phenomenon, they began releasing albums such as, “A Little Bit Longer” and “Lines, Vines and Trying Times.” However, in 2013 the band called it quits, and the brothers began separate careers of their own.
Following the split, Kevin (the oldest member of the band) settled down, marrying his wife Danielle and starting a family with her, raising daughters Alena and Valentina Jonas.
Joe became the front man of a new band called “DNCE,” which ended up being successful with their hit song “Cake by the Ocean.” He also got engaged to “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner in 2017.
Nick, the youngest, released two solo albums, “Nick Jonas” and “Last Year Was Complicated,” both of which were highly successful. He also broke into the acting business, having roles in “Scream Queens” and “Jumanji.” Nick tied the knot with “Quantico” actress Priyanka Chopra in 2018.
Now that each band member has had a chance to do his own thing, the brothers decided it was time to get back together and make new music. While on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” every night the week after they announced their comeback, many questions were answered about their breakup as well as what sparked the return. There are also multiple skits done with James Corden such as, “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts,” Carpool Karaoke, “Side Effects May Include” and a performance of their new song “Sucker,” just to name a few.
The release of their new song “Sucker” created an uproar from old and new fans of the band, causing the song to debut at Number One on Billboard’s Top 100 list, which is a first for the band. The music video for the song, released at the same time, now has over 74 million views on Youtube. The video itself features Nick, Joe and Kevin’s significant others, incorporating a very out of the box concept which makes the video all the more interesting to watch.
Fans everywhere, including us here at VALLEY can’t wait to see what The Jonas Brothers have up their sleeve now that they’re back.
